Horses and Career Constellations in Topanga Canyon ~ Wild Duchess Field Trip

Catie Macken working with horses

On June 6th, we are heading into Topanga Canyon for a morning of Horses and Career Constellation work, led by equine facilitator and holistic guide Caitie Macken.

With so much upheaval in the job market right now, and so many women turning to freelance work, consulting, or starting something entirely new, we wanted to create a Field Trip that offers clarity on the big career questions so many of us are sitting with right now. Outside. In nature. With horses. Because that, in our experience, is where we can get out of the thinking and planning phase, and into the doing phase.

Who this is for

If you are at a career crossroads, thinking about a pivot, re-evaluating how the next few years of work should look, or have just launched an independent practice or new business, this day was built for you.

You do not need horse experience. There is no riding involved. The horses are here as guides and co-facilitators, and as anyone who has spent time around them knows, they have a particular way of cutting through the noise and revealing a lot about ourselves.

About Catie Macken

Catie has spent years guiding individuals and leadership teams through questions of purpose, creativity, and challenging decisions. She works with both individuals and large corporate teams, and she is masterful at helping the Type-A personalities move beyond the rational, linear thinking most of us default to in our work, and into something much deeper.

Her constellation sessions are a therapeutic mapping practice. The idea is this: rather than staying inside the same loop you have been turning over for months, you create an external map of your internal world, using the horses and land as co-creators. A career shift, a decision stalling, a direction you can almost see but cannot quite commit to. The session creates the conditions to work through it.

The Shape of the Day

The morning opens with an introduction from Wild Duchess founder Storme Whitby-Grubb, former Chief Creative Officer of Red Bull Records, with some honest insight on portfolio career building, mid-life career pivots, and repositioning as an executive.

Catie then takes over for the main session: grounded work with the horses and workshopping us through what comes up.

We close the day with a catered lunch in the canyon. Small group. Real conversation. The kind of afternoon you leave feeling different about whatever you walked in carrying.
