Thank Fk It's Filson Season

(and my obsession with wool)

First of all, this post is not sponsored, I’m just obsessed with wool.

Although I’m currently on Exmoor in the depths of England (the complete opposite location to these photos), surrounded in lush green forests, wild ponies and worn out coast line, and these photos were taken at my horses’ ranch in SoCal, I still pretty much live in this set up when I’m out here.

I’ve been riding a neighbour’s horse whilst visiting Somerset, through wind and rain (absolute bliss) head to toe in wool, (you know how much I bang on about how incredible wool is) and no lie, this jacket has not come off. Wool layers + waxed outer jackets, and I stay completely dry riding on the moors, walking in the woods, or running around late at night trying to find more firewood because my fire building skills are so bad that I burn through it way too fast.

I’d love to say this is sponsored, but it’s not. However, I’m no gatekeeper, and everyone asks me where I get my wool layers, especially this overshirt, so here are the classics that keeps on giving season after season:

Filson1897 wool overshirt (or anything wool by Filson is a win), and under layers by Unbound Merino will do you solid on cold California mornings, Montana multi-season days, and definitely in the depths of wet, upward rain and biting wind rugged English countryside.

They’re an investment, but wool doesn’t need washing as much, it works with your body temp, it somehow magically manages sweat, and it lasts (as long as you can keep moths away).

And yes, I should have posted Exmoor-appropriate photos that match the description... but I’m out here alone, my selfie skills are dire, and they wouldn’t have Sprocket in them. Just look how handsome he is in these!
